Issue Position

Abortion has a long history throughout human experience. Even today the vast majority of Minnesotan's are not in favor of abortion. Most people struggle balancing the reality of killing human life and providing personal options for woman in what is for some of them a crises. Unfortunately abortion is terminating human life. The life within a woman's body is not the beginning of a frog, hypo or swordfish, but a human being with a God given soul.

The bases for my opposition to abortion is life begins at conception, is sacred and human. I understand many events arising from a dangerous or unwanted pregnancy complicate the issue of abortion. Additionally parent's hold a responsibility to protect the human life entrusted into their care. A stable society has an obligation to secure the safety of innocent life through public policy even in the womb and I support a public policy prohibiting abortion. On the flip side I support personal liberty on the tough subject of abortion decisions made by a citizen between their doctor, spouse and
God by not criminalizing personally private decisions of life and death.
